Philosophy of Care

To enable us to provide a secure and happy home, our staff strives to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all Residents and to recognise their ever-changing needs, whatever these may be. Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their care plans, with attainable goals to ensure that their physical, emotional and social needs and preferences are met. They are also encouraged to make choices and to maintain community and family links. We offer a programme of activities, both within David Gresham House and outside and Residents are encouraged to take part in these to help maintain mental alertness, self-esteem and social interaction with others.

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission as a care home but are not permitted to provide nursing care. If care needs change and exceed our CQC registration, the Resident will have to move to more specialist accommodation; of course we will do all we can to help ease this distressing circumstance.
