David Gresham House is run day-to-day by its Registered Manager with overall control in the hands of its Executive Committee (which is like the board of a company), assisted by a sub-committee called the House Committee. All members on both committees are unpaid volunteers from the local community.

Registered Manager

Pam Packham has worked at David Gresham House since May 1990 and has been the Registered Manager since 1994. She has gained City and Guilds and NVQ4 in Management of Care – Registered Managers’ Award (RMA) NVQ Assessors Award.

Deputy Manager and Head of Care

Andy Fleet has been with David Gresham House since 1991 and has held the Head of Care post since 2004. He holds NVQ level 4 in Care and the NVQ Assessors Award. His role is to support the Registered Manager and manage the everyday care needs of Residents.

Care Staff

Care Staff come from many different backgrounds; some have been employed in the care industry all their working lives. All our staff complete the mandatory training and we encourage them to train towards their Diploma in Health & Social Care, level 2, 3 or 4 as appropriate.

All our staff have a collective commitment to improve the quality of the lives of Residents and are proud to maintain the high standards of care that David Gresham House provides.

Volunteers

A key part of the homely feel of David Gresham House comes from the support of some 70 volunteers who help them with the daily tea and coffee service, with the provision of some of the activities programme and help with external trips. Besides being an essential factor of the Abbeyfield ethos, their role also enables us to keep costs down.

The staff from top to bottom are so friendly & caring & there every day to re-assure & help with any problem. I have never been happier or more content since the death of my husband. “
