David Gresham House –What’s on and general activity programme

DGH provides a full programme of activities, varying from week to week,which include:bridge and board games, film and slide shows, exercise classes, music, art and craft workshops,Sunday services, talks by guest speakers, poetry reading, reminiscence and quizzes,Pets as Therapy as well as poppy making for the British Legion. We also run a resident and staff study group for Hearing Management. Helen organises outings to places of interest, such as Titsey Place, National Trust properties, garden centres, the Barn Theatre and the local pub.

DGH actively participates in community projects, recently with St. Johns church, and the village hall, and runs a tombola stall at Hurst Green’s annual fair.We host regular visits from our neighbours, The Little Oaks under-five’s group,local schools and the Brownie Guides.                             

Future activities planned are: Royal Wedding festivities, a Strawberry Tea Open Day, boat trips on the Medway, and a visit to Knole Park National Trust, where we are showing craft work for an Abbey field exhibition.

From May we will be inviting members of local residential homes and sheltered accommodation to join us
for coffee in the lounge on the First Friday of the month.

Fri 4th 4:00pm HEALTH QUIZ: test your knowledge and give yourself a check-up.
Tues 8th/24th 3:30pm Help us to knit more poppies for the 1918 centenary project (150 made so far!)
Fri 11th 11:15am Little Oaks Under Five’s join us to plant sunflower seeds(coffee at 10:45am today)
Tues 15th 4:00pm The East Grinstead Ukelele Band join us for music and singalong numbers.
Sat 19th 11:00am Royal Wedding Watch Party with bubbly and buffet lunch in the lounge at 1:00.

Sat 19th 2:30pm The FA Cup final. Watch in the conservatory.
Mon 21st 4:00pm Down Memory Lane with the committee.
Wed 23rd 3:00pm Tea at Titsey Place and a stroll in the walled garden.
Fri 25th 11:30am A talk by Ian Porter from the U3A on Historic Greenwich.

June 12th 4:00pm An informative presentation by Clare Oldfield, Natwest Community Banker, about services available.
June 25th 10:15am Trip to KnoleParkN.T.,to deer watch and enjoy a coffee with members of the National Trust community team.

August 13th& 15th 1:15pm Kingfisher Boat Trips on the Medway (lunch served at 12:15pm).
