We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a Care Home. We regret that we are not permitted by our CQC registration to provide full nursing and dementia care.

Becoming a Resident at David Gresham House

We know what a daunting time this can be and we aim to make the transition as stress free and simple as possible. Prospective Residents can be shown around the house by appointment and we offer trial visits, including a short-term stay, so that they can meet staff and get a feel for living at David Gresham House.

All of our Residents are encouraged to contribute and participate in the development of their own Care Plan and we encourage the input from family and friends who will offer a valuable insight into their likes and dislikes.

Each plan is tailored to individual needs and will include medical care and dietary requirements. Our prime aim is to ensure that all of our Residents live their lives as fully and independently as they wish.

Admissions

All applications for residence are subject to a full care needs assessment prior to acceptance onto our waiting list and there is always an eight weeks trial period for both parties for a new Resident. Care level assessments are carried out on a regular basis.

Medication

David Gresham House has a clear policy and follows stringent Department of Health guidelines for all aspects of the handling of medication. Residents may choose to deal with their own medication or have the Care Staff support/administer. Lockable drawers are provided for the secure storage of medicines for our self-administering Residents and we carry out regular assessments and reviews. A record of all prescribed medication is kept, even when self-administered.
